Egon Müller’s wines are all made using estate-grown fruit from two parcels: 8.3 hectares of Scharzhof and 4 hectares of Le Gallais. Egon Müller Scharzhofberger Auslese 2022 is a noble‐sweet Riesling of remarkable purity and depth, shaped by botrytised fruit from one of the Saar’s most revered sites. The nose is aromatic and fresh, showing candied grapefruit, pineapple, passion fruit and minty herbs, with hints of apricot, honey and subtle licorice complexity.
On the palate it is rich and intensely flavoured yet balanced by vibrant acidity, creating an impression of opulent sweetness that never feels heavy. Layers of citrus and stone fruit are supported by fine mineral tension and a broad, powerful texture that carries through to a hugely long finish.
