<10 tasting notes
Spices, dark fruit, a perfume of mocha and earth and some cedar embrace you as you inhale. It opens with delicacy and precision, awash in gorgeous rich fruit, then at the mid palate, lacy ethereal finesse and ever emerging elegance, softening tannins amidst nuanced complexity, plums and cinnamon. There is a great vibrancy to the wine, and you can understand why ’91 is hailed as a “Burgundy lover’s vintage”, slightly less stuffing than some, but as on the finish here, a dazzling medley of fruit, spice, well integrated acidity and soil notes, delivered with impeccable precision. This is a beautiful quaff. 96 Points
