From a 7 ha plot in the heart of the original Crozes-Hermitage that was purchased by the Paul Jaboulet family in 1834! Biodynamically farmed, which allows the grapes to be picked earlier than the rest of the appellation to preserve freshness and acidity.
Vines grown on a rock debris from the river L’Isère, with a small base of clay and limestone. Allows for great draining which is ideal for proper maturation of Marsanne and Roussanne
50% Marsanne, 50% Roussanne
60+ year old vines
Aged in 55% French oak (5% new), 25% small concrete eggs, and 20% stainless steel tank. Blocked malo and no battonage.
Possessing a mineral cut and drive that begs for food, buoyed by pure lime, tangerine, and fresh white flowers. An achievement for Rhone Valley white wine. Intense, mineral-tinged Meyer lemon and pear aromas show very good clarity and a sexy floral topnote. Juicy and sharply focused, offering bitter pear skin and citrus fruit flavors that put on weight and spread out on the back half. In a concentrated but energetic style, displaying strong closing thrust and a lingering mineral flourish.
