The Story

In 1989, Jean-Luc Thunevin and Murielle Andraud became the proud owners of a small plot of land of 0,6 ha, in the valley of Saint Emilion, between Pavie Macquin and La Clotte. In 1991 they produced and bottled their first vintage. Since then, their estate portfolio has grown with properties in Saint Christophe des Bardes, Saint Sulpice de Faleyrens or Saint Etienne de Lisse.

In the early days, wine critics nicknamed their production « garag...

Vintage 2015

Full report of Bordeaux 2015 by Andrew Caillard MW “Next in line in a great series of vintages; 2000, 2005, 2009, 2010 and 2015.

2015 is a wonderful Bordeaux vintage without the hype or hysteria associated with 2009 and 2010. The wines are generally expressive and generous with wonderful concentration and structure. Given another year in barrel, the wines should gain more complexity and fruit volume. Châteaux, in all sub-regions, are e...

Good looking normal size bottle and in an perfect condition. Colour is purple and deep. On the nose it is intense, complex and rich. The taste is full of energy, fresh, voluptuous, and dry, high alcohol content, with medium tannin, with silky tannins, and average in acidity, full-bodied, with perfectly balanced, well-structured, complex structure and youthful. On the palate it is layered and has earthy, chocolate, toasty, mineral, caramel, blackcurrant, cassis and floral flavours. The finish is long and spicy. This wine is outstanding. I paid around 100-200€ a bottle. Perfectly stored bottles are still very worthy and will last well for another 20-30 years and decant at least 30min before tasting. Good value for money. I do recommend.

Tasted four times - last time in August 2019. Consistent notes. Powerful and intense, excellent structure, length and finish. Great class. Chewy and fat texture. A winner! This was in April 2018. Closed when tasted in August 2019 but displayed enormous potential.

Dark purple red colour with violet hue. Quite closed character, opening up very slowly, hints of mild spices, well concentrated. On the palate elegant, full-bodied with a good aromatic concentration, ripe acidity, ripe tannins, well balanced with depth and length displaying a promising potential.

Deep colour. Intense dark cherry, dark chocolate, ginger, sweet fruit aromas. Rich dense, chocolaty, with brambly textures. Finishes long and minerally.  Very good. Generous and substantial yet with finesse and balance. 95 points
