The Story

In 1989, Jean-Luc Thunevin and Murielle Andraud became the proud owners of a small plot of land of 0,6 ha, in the valley of Saint Emilion, between Pavie Macquin and La Clotte. In 1991 they produced and bottled their first vintage. Since then, their estate portfolio has grown with properties in Saint Christophe des Bardes, Saint Sulpice de Faleyrens or Saint Etienne de Lisse.

Vintage 2022

Bordeaux 2022 vintage will stay in the memory of the world of wine as the exceptional vintage which kept a lot of surprises. The year started well with bud break at a normal date, so the frost in early April did not too much damage. The flowering started in mid-May and in optimal conditions. Valandraud - had an intense nose of high-quality black cherries and fresh coffee beans with excellent purity, precision, focus, great complexity and fabulous structure, great midpalate, sophisticated touch, and great length. Highly impressive. 98p.

Ruby.Spices, coffee, liquorice, dark fruits, vanilla, rich and deep nose, blackberries, quite dense. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, red fruits, dark berries, some spices, liquorice, layered and deep, long finish. A more powerful Valandraud, yet with finesse and energy.

Intense purple colour with violet hue and black core. Rich yet elegant nose with concentrated fruit reminiscent of blackberries, blackcurrant jelly, mulberries and sweet elderberries. In the background floral hints, balmy spices, fine toasting and dark chocolate. Sophisticated palate with full-bodied character, showing freshness and great depth, excellent length. A wine of great elegance and persistence with silky tannins and complex finish.
