Vintage 2017

BURGUNDY 2017 - In 2017, everything came good for the Bourgogne winegrowing region in terms of both quality and quantity. And after several years of harvests that suffered the whims of the weather, 2017 has provided volumes set to satisfy the market, with wines that are already promising great things to come from this elegant vintage.

Written Notes

Good looking normal size bottle, in an perfect condition and has by the neck level. Colour is green-yellow, and looking clear and light. On the nose it is open, fresh and complex. The taste is elegant, fresh, fruity, and dry, and high in acidity, medium-bodied, with multi-dimensional structure and developing. On the palate it is layered and has earthy, buttery, mineral, white fruits, citrus and floral flavours. The finish is endless and vibrant. This wine is masterpiece. I paid around 500-1k€ a bottle. Perfectly stored bottles are still very worthy and will last well for another 10-15 years, decant at least 1h before tasting and this is a good invest wine. Good value for money. I do recommend.

A bit like the Clos St. Marc, sulfur masks everything but a citrus whiff that is picked up by the dense, serious and muscular flavors that possess evident power on the clean, dry and borderline strict finish that is quite linear today. This will need at least a few years to flesh out and add overall depth.
