The Story

Masseto was born ‘almost by chance’ in 1986 when it was decided to vinify the Merlot from the Masseto vineyard alone as it ‘promised well’. Written Notes

A deep, intense, purple colour. Pronounced nose of ripe, sweet dark berries – blueberry, blackberry, spiciness, and hints of vanilla from new oak barrels. The full-bodied palate shows balancing acidity along with intense aromas, rich fruitiness and refined tannic structure. Approachable and even delicious now. Shows good complexity while escorting the long explosive finish. I don’t think that this will ever be any better than today.
