The Story

Appellation: Darioush Estate Vineyards in Napa Valley, Oak Knoll and Mount Veeder

Cooperage: Aged 22 months in 70% new French oak

The unique terroir of our rocky, higher elevation Mount Veeder estate combines a cool marine influenced climate with exceptional sun exposure to naturally develop the distinct and concentrated flavors of earth, spice and blueberry that are native to Cabernet Franc. This classic Bordeaux varietal possesses great power and poise, and contributes great intensity of flavor and earth-oriented elements to our Signature Cabernet Sauvignon each year.

Wine Information

In 2016, a small contribution of Atlas Peak sourced fruit adds aromatic intensity. This classic Bordeaux variety possesses both power and poise, and contributes layered, uplifting fruit and concentrated earthen flavors to our Signature Cabernet Sauvignon each year.

Tasting notes: Opening with savory and lingering aromas of crushed boysenberries, blueberries and Kirsch accented by earthen notes of dry loam, lead pencil shavings, and cigar box. Steeped black tea, anise and underbrush create for a savory interplay on the taut, medium to full-bodied palate packed with black and blue fruits. Each sip is framed by firm, finely-grained tannins – a lively backbone to support its great length, depth, and age-worthiness.
