The Story

From the original Estate vineyard; 8,500 vines/hectare; specific plot cropping at approx. one tonne/acre, often blended with the best fruit from our Leongatha Vineyard. Wine with attractive, rich fruits in the mid-palate, with the strength to improve up to ten years in the cellar. Bottled without fining or filtration.

The exquisitely balanced single vineyard Estate Pinot Noir draws fruit from the extremely low cropping, closely spaced north easterly facing, four hectare un-irrigated vineyard. The wine is vinified in an open stainless steel fermenter with regular plunging to extract colour and flavour. After fermentation the wine is gravity racked into a combination of new (60%) and old French Alliers oak for a maturation period of around 15 to 18 months.

Written Notes

Good looking normal size bottle, in an perfect condition and has by the neck level. Colour is cherry red and light. On the nose it is youthful, complex and fresh. The taste is elegant, robust, and dry, warming, with medium tannin, with silky tannins, and high in acidity, medium-bodied, with balanced structure and developing. On the palate it is layered and has vegetal, cherry, floral and toasty flavours. The finish is long and flavorful. This wine is excellent. I paid around 50-100€ a bottle. Perfectly stored bottles are still very worthy and will last well for another 10-15 years, decant at least 30min before tasting and this is a good invest wine. Good value for money. I do recommend.

The nose was brooding dark plums and cherries with hints of Strawberries spice.  The palate is weighed delicately with the dark brooding fruit plum and red strawberry racing freshness.  Delicious something for the cellar
