The Story

RODA I is the blend from those plots which in that year have produced grapes of black, ripe fruit characters. The deep, dark, black fruit is almost always dominated by plum aromas together with mineral and chocolate notes, balsamic flavours, all of which form a whole which flows slowly from the very bottom of the glass, developing hugely as it reaches the expectant nose of the taster.

On the palate, the fullness of the wine comes through clearly, the fruit complexity gently coating the mouth with masses of sweet tannins. The wine shows great length with a finish of fruit and freshness that lingers on well after swallowing, inciting the taster to sip again. These are wines to accompany gastronomic food and to appreciate in the company of fellow enthusiasts.
Prior decanting can enhance the wine.

Tasting:

Colour: Intense high layer with cherry background.

Nose: Very intense and deep, with very well integrated and high-quality oak. Black fruits appear. Ripe and fresh plum predominates. Chocolate notes and tobacco leafs memories. It has a mineral character that highlights the smell of the earth, mixed with aromas of aromatic plants.

Palate: It is voluminous and full, with very fine and noble tannins. The fruity sensation is marked by the memory of well-ripened black fruits and plum above all. Very wide in the mouth and long at the same time, wrapped in a great balance. Friendly and tasty, with a lot of flavour, complex, elegant and long.

Harvest:

Autumn and Winter with lot of rain so the cycle began with enough water on the ground. Very cold winter.

Spring fresh at its start but it changed in May, which was really warm and made the phenology process progress (flowering 1st June).

During May it did not rain at all, due to the winter reserves of water, it did not matter. It rained in June after the curd. July was extremely hot with highs of 35ºC-37ºC and storms that left good rainfall.

Soft August, with cooler temperatures than usual. Very early harvest, mid-September, finishing the 8th October.

A year of perfect maturation, with Mediterranean influence and great wines.
