Vintage 2015

Full report of Bordeaux 2015 by Andrew Caillard MW “Next in line in a great series of vintages; 2000, 2005, 2009, 2010 and 2015.

2015 is a wonderful Bordeaux vintage without the hype or hysteria associated with 2009 and 2010. The wines are generally expressive and generous with wonderful concentration and structure. Written Notes

Mid to deep crimson. Dark and fragrant on the nose. Smells quite Cabernet-Sauvignon-like with cassis and cedar underneath the oak. Dry, a little chalky but still succulent on the finish. Lovely harmony of fruit, freshness and fine tannins. (JH)

Dark purple red with violet hue and almost black core. Expressive nose with intense fruit, dark berries and ripe plums, hints of chocolate and coffee, gingerbread spices in the background. On the palate opulent and rich with great depth and length, complex approach with ripe tannins and discreet minerality in the finish, adding to the wine's freshness.

Clinet – as impressive as during tasting at the property 4 days earlier. Huge and powerful wine (90% Merlot, 9% Cabernet Sauvignon and 1% Cabernet Franc) with lot of perfectly ripe fruit and tannin, very concentrated, great complexity and long finish. 96p.

Medium deep colour. Praline, cedar, plum aromas. Supple and slinky with ripe red plum red currant herb flavours, brambly tannins and underlying savoury oak. Finishes chalky firm long and minerally. 89 points

Tasted 3 times in 3 different occassions. Very consistent in the performance. Rich and intense floral first cames to the nose. A mix of dark and red cherry in palate, and came then some sweet spices, vanilla and coffee. Very charming and elegant. Opulent with really good structure. Long finish. One of my highly rated ones from right bank! 96+
