A 5th Classified Growth of 1855 located in the Haut-Médoc appellation, château de Camensac benefits from a vineyard with a total area of 75 hectares. Aged 35 years on average, the vines are planted on a terroir composed of thick Gunzian soils of the Quaternary and fine Villafranchian gravel of the Tertiary. The wine is aged in French oak barrels. The 2009 vintage blends 55% Cabernet Sauvignon and 45% Merlot.
...Dark purple colour with violet hue and black core. Elegant nose with ripe fruit and hints of cold smoke. Blackberries, mulberries, plums and hints of sloe, vanilla and discreet spiciness in the background. On the palate medium bodied with ripe tannins and fine acidity, juicy fruit and very good length.
