Wine Description
The Story
A 5th Classified Growth of 1855 located in the Haut-Médoc appellation, château de Camensac benefits from a vineyard with a total area of 75 hectares. Aged 35 years on average, the vines are planted on a terroir composed of thick Gunzian soils of the Quaternary and fine Villafranchian gravel of the Tertiary. The wine is aged in French oak barrels. The 2009 vintage blends 55% Cabernet Sauvignon and 45% Merlot.

The year 2016 saw a winter that was mild and heavy in rainfall. The flowering occurred evenly thanks to a slight sunny period. The following summer was very hot and dry, so much so that the water reserves from the beginning of the year were depleted. The month of September offered a few showers that helped the vines, which resumed their maturation. The harvest was late with ideal weather conditions.
