BORDEAUX 2013 VINTAGE REPORT

The 2013 vintage in Bordeaux was one of the most difficult since 1965 and 1968. Thomas Duroux of Château Palmer describes it as “the most complicated vintage in 20 years”. Written Notes

Tasted in May 2019. Lower percentage of Merlot (64% contra normally 68%) and more Cabernet Sauvignon (12% versus normally 6%), 4% less of Cabernet Franc than normally (28%). Guy Meslin says, that this blend benefitted his wine a lot. Round, fruity and accessible, a bit short on the palate. Weather conditions didn’t allow to make a better wine here, but the result is much more than OK! Very nice wine for immediate consumption.

Dark purple red with violet hue and almost black core. Aromtic nose rmeiniscent of ripe blackberries, floral notes and gingerbread spices. On the palate aromatic with eleagnt fruit and hints of white blossoms, medium bodied with medium length.

Ruby. Rich, fruity and dark berries nose. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, fruity, rounded, leaner palate and finish, bit hollow. 86-88
