Written Notes

A masterclass in solera complexity, this bottling draws on a perpetual reserve spanning 13 distinct harvests aged in large oak foudres without malolactic fermentation, striking a remarkable balance between aged maturity and raw structural tension.

The nose is complex, oxidative, and deeply aromatic, opening with dried yellow peaches, candied kumquat, and baked quince, interwoven with autolytic layers of warm tarte Tatin, dark honey, toasted pecans, and a subtle flick of woodsmoke and crushed chalk. On the palate, the wine enters with massive vinous authority and a velvety, hyper-fine mousse. The weight of the 13 reserve vintages fills the mid-palate with incredible depth, yet the absence of malolactic transformation ensures a piercing, laser-focused line of citrusy acidity that drives straight through the richness. It concludes on a bone-dry, minutes-long finish that leaves a lingering impression of saline minerality, dark spice, and toasted almond skin.
