Written Notes

We are already seeing some really exciting Hunter Semillons from the 2022 vintage and this joins the fold. As we see with many of the top releases these days, this is a Semillon which will provide immediate gratification or age well over a long period – you can have your cake and eat it. Fruit comes from old vines in the Brycefield and Tinkler’s School Block Vineyards in Pokolbin. Gentle pressing – they take only the first 450 to 550 litres per tonne – followed by a cool fermentation. Racking is from heavy lees, and the wine matures in a slightly cloudy condition in tank for two months. As with many Sems, this comes in at just 11% alcohol, making it an ideal wine to enjoy, if you are looking for more than just one glass. 


Pale gleaming yellow hue, we have aromas of spices, lemongrass, ginger, lemons and more. Good structure with that fine minerally backing. There are subtle lemony notes on a lingering palate. It is indeed delicious now but will sail through a decade or more in a good cellar, rewarding the patient. Cracking value. 94.
