The Story
The vintage "Fleuron Brut", with its fine bubbles and firm, persistent mousse, has lovely, fresh charming aromas, typically of flowers and honey. On the palate this Champagne is always rich and very well balanced, with deep fruit flavours of honeyed apples, persisting for a long, luxurious finish. A cold winter and springtime frosts laid the foundations for this vintage of abundant yields (12,997 kg/ha). Uneventful flowering was followed by exceptionally hot and sunny weather, which lasted until August. A dank August left producers fearful but fortunately warm, bright conditions in September redressed the balance.
