dam Smith and Marty O'Flaherty are what one might term wine industry veterans, working as viticulturist and winemaker respectively, across numerous regions for a number of highly respected producers. They are also good mates and so, whilst keeping their day jobs, they have teamed up to make some cracking wines, although, as the name suggests, only in small quantities.

This Riesling from the Clare is yet another brilliant release from the 2021 vintage. Heavily hyped the year might be, but the wines are more than matching that fuss. This is green gold. Young and fresh, look for limes, minerals and a saline note. Even a whiff of pineapple. It is ripe with spices and underlying river stones. A soft texture through to excellent length with good acidity along the entire journey. A lovely Riesling, this is drinking beautifully now, but has a decade or more ahead of it. 93.
