The 2022 Bernkasteler Doctor GG opens with a brilliantly pure and aromatic bouquet of white peach, yellow apple, and ripe citrus, lifted by notes of lime blossom, chamomile, and fresh herbs. Beneath the pristine fruit lies the unmistakable Doctor signature of crushed slate, wet stone, and subtle smoky minerality, giving the nose extraordinary definition and intensity.

On the palate, the wine is taut, linear, and beautifully layered, delivering remarkable clarity and drive. Flavors of stone fruit, lemon zest, grapefruit pith, and green apple unfold with laser-like precision, framed by a vivid core of saline slate minerality. The texture is firm yet polished, with a fine phenolic grip that adds structure and depth.

The acidity is vibrant, crystalline, and perfectly integrated, lending the wine energy, lift, and exceptional length. Despite its youthful intensity, the wine remains impeccably balanced, with a sense of restraint and transparency that speaks clearly of both site and vintage.

As it evolves, subtle nuances of white pepper, crushed herbs, flint, and smoke emerge, adding complexity and further emphasizing the vineyard’s mineral authority.

The finish is long, mouthwatering, and profoundly mineral, echoing with citrus freshness, stone fruit purity, and a lingering saline slate imprint.
