The Story

2012 is the first vintage of Chateau Figeac's second wine, Petit Figeac. This new label replaces Grangeneuve de Figeac that was produced in most vintages between 1945 and 2011.

Full report of Bordeaux 2015 by Andrew Caillard MW “Next in line in a great series of vintages; 2000, 2005, 2009, 2010 and 2015.

Written Notes

Rich, ripened red fruit driven. Aromatic with a lot of fresh fruit from palate. Nice acidity that only came out gradually. It was quite alike with the Figeac but with less tannin. This second wine is also very good and intense with medium long finish. Another early drinking wine. 91-93

Deep colour. Fresh aromatic wine with cherry, cassis floral notes and graphite nuances. Lovely supple palate with sweet fruit espresso flavours and fine grainy slightly al dente textures. Inky at the finish with an aniseed kick. Fresh and slinky. Very smooth and delicious to drink. 93 points

Dark purple red with violet hue and almost black core. Elegant fruit in purity, discreet spiciness and hints of minerality. On the palate well structured with hints of liquorice and dark berries, excellent tannins and good length.
