The Story
The red is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Carignan and Cinsault. Serge Hochar, who has been involved with the property since 1959, states that the Cabernet Sauvignon provides "the bones and the skeleton to the wine, the Carignan the flesh and muscle and the Cinsault the silky smooth finesse".

After a mild April, May was very cool, with frost reducing the crop by 10% where flowering was forward. Summer was average, barring several episodes of severe rainfall in August. The weather became very hot in early September, resulting in grapes of exceptional maturity: ripe and well-balanced, dark and fragrant.
