The Story

From an exceptional site that imparts earthy, ethereal notes of power and elegance, this signature cabernet reveals intense, deep layers of crème de cassis, barbecue smoke, graphite, blackberry and freshly cut flowers that excite the palate. Incredibly long and round, it is our rarest wine, the 2002 vintage achieving our first perfect score as “a wine of enormous concentration, multiple dimensions, layers of flavor, and a sensational one minut...

Wine Information

The 2006 vintage began a bit slower than the average year. With a wetter winter, soils took longer to dry out, and vines began to wake up in April, several weeks later than usual. Written Notes

The 2006 vintage 'Tychson Hill' is a wonderfully aromatic wine. The wine is laced with a beautiful gravelly note, as well as an element of graphite. Feminine aromas of honeysuckle, perfume and talc leap from the glass, followed by darker notes of charcoal smoke, wet stone and barbecue spices. On the palate, the wine has a deliciously round and plush entry. There is great finesse to the tannin, which is quite silky.

As we aged this vintage of 'Tychson Hill' in barrel, the tannins became more and more polished, and we captured that at just the right moment for bottling, in August 2008. The wine is delightfully approachable upon release, yet will age gracefully for 15 to 20 years. "

We released 250 cases of the 2006 "Tychson Hill" in March 2010.
