The Story

Marqués de Riscal Reserva wines are basically made from grapes from tempranillo vines planted before de 70’s, grown in the best clay-limestone soils of the Rioja Alavesa. Deep brown colour. Bitter almond, strange nose, pungent and vinegary. Spirity nose, cooked, jammy and figgy. Long and viscous.

On the nose it is mature. The taste is with medium tannin ., with drying tannins, and average in acidity and the palate is one-dimensional. On the palate it is layered and has nutty and dried-fruit flavours. The finish is medium long and a bit too harsh .. Perfectly stored bottles are still very worthy and will last well for another 1-5 years and decant at least 5min before tasting.
