The Story

Marqués de Riscal Reserva wines are basically made from grapes from tempranillo vines planted before de 70’s, grown in the best clay-limestone soils of the Rioja Alavesa. This variety withstands oak- and bottle ageing well thanks to its good balance of acidity and fine tannin. Written Notes

Dark garnet red colour with almost black core. Opulten nose with balmy aroma, elegant mild spices, prunes and dried figs. On the palate opulent yet elegant, fine minerality, balmy spices, youthful character and excellent length.

Good looking normal size bottle. Colour is ruby red, and looking dark and deep. On the nose it is open, youthful, fresh, charming and generous. The taste is toasty, vivid, refined, with medium tannin ., and average in acidity and youthful. On the palate it is layered and has blackcurrant, spice and toasty flavours. The finish is long, round, flavorful, spicy and vibrant. This wine is fine. Perfectly stored bottles are still very worthy and will last well for another 10-15 years and decant at least over 4h before tasting.
