The Story

Every Barons de Rothschild Champagne has exceptional characteristics that make each Champagne unique and great. The celebrated finesse in the Barons de Rothschild Blanc de Blancs comes from the blend of the greatest Chardonnay grapes in Champagne after at least four years of cellars ageing. Inimitable brilliance, delicate bubbles, luminous golden glints, the Barons de Rothschild Blanc de Blancs reveals notes of fresh fruit and ripe citrus. The very low dosage and long ageing after disgorging (6 to 9 months) enhance its innate quality. The Chardonnay develops its inherent authenticity and purity, for full appreciation for every occasion and at any time throughout the day.

The Rothschild family’s signature is clearly expressed in this pure, delicate and complex cuvée. The family’s commitment to perfection, to constancy and the spirit of purity and excellence stands behind their Champagne Blanc de Blancs. Emblematic of the Barons de Rothschild house, the Chardonnay signature here expresses the refined, audacious style which conveys the Rothschild family passion for this Champagne grape.

Characteristics
Barons de Rothschild’s Blanc de Blancs shows all the finesse of a blend of the Champagne greatest Chardonnays after at least three years of cellar ageing. Inimitably radiant, with delicate, goldshimmering bubbles, its nose offers fresh fruit and ripe citrus notes. This wine owes its maturity to its low sugar level (dosage) and its long ageing after disgorgement (6 to 9 months).

Blending
• This 100% Chardonnays cuvée is made using the Côte des Blancs signature crus: Avize, Cramant, Mesnil sur-Oger, Oger…
• The blend contains 40% of reserve wine, emblematic of the Maison Barons de Rothschild’s exceptional savoir-faire, since each year it recreates a consistent blend.

Vinification
• Manual Harvesting
• Alcoholic fermentation in thermos regulated stainless steel vats
• Malolactique fermentation
• Bottle ageing between 4 and 5 years
• Low dosage between 5 and 6 g/l, ageing of 6 months minimum after disgorgement

The Art of tasting
Appearance: The Blanc de Blancs displays a crystalline golden-yellow colour that produces a fine foam and a continuous thread of delicate bubbles.
Aroma: Chardonnays stands out in this cuvée, which offers rare levels of purity and intensity. The nose is dominated by citrus, which blends with the aromatic hints of fresh almonds and dried fruit.
Palate: The first impression is clean and precise, followed by a silky freshness kept aloft by citrus and white fruit notes. The creamy sensation of its fine, chiselled bubbles is paired with a persistent, distinguished mineral softness.

Wine and Food Pairings
This great Champagne is appropriate before dinner at any time of year, but it pairs especially well with seafood platters in the summer. The Blanc de Blancs is the perfect accompaniment for a lobster soufflé, a carpaccio of scallops or shellfish with a light citrus dressing.
