A difficult start to the year led to early budbreak. There were some damaging hailstorms in early May, but the frost ultimately stayed away. 1999 Blanc de Blancs Open and fresh nose with golden apples, ripe citrus, lemon, grapefruit, hints of almonds and white nougat. Medium bodied and fresh attack with citrus, minerals, green apples, hints of toasted bread. Long, tight and really chalky mineral finish. Drink now-2019 91p.
