Written Notes

The 2018 Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru, matured in 25–30% new oak, has an extraordinarily complex, almost maze-like bouquet offering scents of crushed limestone, petrichor, mirabelle and fleeting glimpses of peppermint. They all gain momentum with each swirl of the glass. The palate possesss exquisite balance, revealing traces of lime, stem ginger and wild fennel toward the weighty and insistent finish, which fans out as if its life depended on it. Whatever way you look at this, it is magnificent.
