Essentiel 2015

A beautifully expressive vintage Champagne crafted from an equal blend of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir from the warm, sun-drenched 2015 harvest, vinified entirely in large oak foudres without malolactic fermentation.

The nose is broad, inviting, and richly detailed, opening with baked yellow apples, dried apricots, and candied lemon peel, complemented by distinctive barrel-aged nuances of warm brioche, toasted hazelnuts, vanilla pod, and a subtle undertone of damp chalk. On the palate, the wine possesses a full-bodied, vinous entry and a fine, mouth-coating mousse. The core of ripe orchard and stone fruit fills the mid-palate with generous texture, yet the absence of malolactic fermentation and the low Extra Brut dosage keep everything tightly structured. A bright, linear spine of citrus acidity runs through the middle, leading to a long, bone-dry, and savory finish marked by mouthwatering salinity and lingering toasted almond skin.
