The Story

One of the Douro Valley’s finest vineyards, Bomfim is the heart of some of the company’s greatest Ports, having provided wines for Dow’s Vintage Ports ever since it was acquired in 1896. The estate is situated in the centre of the best wine-producing area known as the ‘Cima Corgo’, which offers an ideal balance between the relatively wet ‘Baixo Corgo’ to the west and the intense heat of the ‘Douro Superior’ to the east.

Vintage 2019

Written Notes

Aromas of dark chocolate, sweet spices and cedar with a ripe dark fruit backbone. Full body, firm tannins and medium sweetness. Excellent balance between richness and crunchiness. It’s tight but so lively with plush density and length. Try after 2028.

The 2019 Quinta do Bomfim Vintage Port has a very sensual bouquet with plush red fruit, raspberry, wild strawberry, blueberry and pressed violet petals. Wonderful purity and elegance here. The palate is sleek with a satin-like texture, delicately spiced with a cohesive and persistent finish. This is a luxuriant, utterly seductive Bomfim, with pure class. This comes highly recommended.
