The Story

The very expression of the Drappier style

The Drappier Carte d’Or expresses all the aromas of the noble grape variety Pinot Noir. This in fact constitutes at least 80% of the blend. A red grape producing white juice, it is sought after not only for its structure but also for its very characteristic fine notes of red fruits.

Written Notes

he Carte d’Or cuvée is the very expression of the Drappier style. With its very high proportion of Pinot Noir, one is almost tasting a Blanc de Noirs. Champagne with a fine aromatic richness, it opens with aromas of stone fruits such as white vineyard peach. A spicy hint announces a powerful and complex palate. A vinous Champagne of lovely complexity with a characteristic note of quince jelly.

Good looking normal size bottle. Colour is yellow and light. On the nose it is open, youthful, complex, fresh, charming and pure. The taste is and dry, and high in acidity, medium-bodied, with perfectly balanced, complex, concentrated structure and youthful. On the palate it is layered and has white fruits, apricot, citrus and mineral flavours. The finish is long, lingering and pure. This wine is fine. Perfectly stored bottles are still very worthy and will last well for another 1-5 years.
