Angela is the Mitolo family matriarch (and presumably completely unrelated in every way from Scylla). One presumes she must be very happy with this fine tribute. The oak used here, with the wine spending sixteen months maturing, was 25% new French, 5% new American and 70% older hogsheads. Under diam.
An opaque maroon hue, the nose offers roast meat notes, chocolate, plums, blackcurrants, spices, florals and even a whiff of orange rind. There is impressive oak integration here and the wine is well balanced. Decent length, good energy and a fine line of acidity running the full journey. Enjoy over the next six to ten years. 93.
