From McLaren Vale, this famous Rhone blend is nearly equal parts of the trio of grapes – 35% Grenache, 33% Shiraz and 32% Mourvèdre. The wine spent a year in French oak barrels, individual components kept separate, before blending and bottling.
Deep red in colour, the nose offers dark red fruits, black cherries, coffee grinds, warm earth and licorice. The wine lifts as we approach the palate and there is a delightful freshness. The palate gives us spicy touches and red cherries. A wine of focus, brightness and length, which will offer pleasure for the next six to eight years. 93.
