Written Notes

A dark purple hue here, his wine is more of a savory, even rustic style than many. Those who enjoy that slight touch of rusticity – and there are many who do – will think this wine deserves a higher score and a more effusive review. There are notes of warm earth, dried herbs, mushrooms, gamey notes, animal skins and cold tea. The wine lifts on the palate as we see the emergence of notes of aniseed, plums and blackberries. Ripe and rich, this has soft and silky tannins with a lingering finish. An attractive style which will offer pleasure over the next three to six years, likely longer. 92.
