Seña is an authentic Chilean blend made from the finest Cabernet Sauvignon, Carmenere, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot varieties. The Carmenere variety adds an evident Chilean personality to the wine.
To maximize quality, the fruit is handpicked exclusively in the morning and brought to the winery in 12 kg boxes. The grapes are then carefully selected on sorting tables and all extraneous plant material, leaves, and stems are removed...

57% Cabernet Sauvignon (picked third and fourth week of April), 25% Merlot (picked 14 April), 9% Carmenère (picked 5 and 16 May), 6% Cabernet Franc (picked 9 April), 3% Petit Verdot (picked 11 April). TA 5.01 g/l, pH 3.59, RS 2.75 g/l. Fruit is from their Seña Hillside Vineyard in the Aconcagua Valley, 41 km from the Pacific Ocean. The Seña Vineyard is on a hillside with a north-eastern exposure and elevations of 290–500 m. The colluvial loam soils have a high percentage of stones (40–80%). Moderate growing season which delayed the harvest by up to a week. Hand-picked and sorted by hand. Destemmed. Stainless steel fermentation, three pumpovers per day. Total maceration time ranged from 20–40 days. Aged for 18 months in 100% new French oak barrels.
Deep garnet. Light nose with sweet oak dominating the fruit. Smells of very sweet Carmenère with some leafiness. Pretty chewy finish. But the fruit seems to be receding.
