The Story

The epitome of bottle-aged Port.

Opulent wild blackberries, fragrance of violets, scents of flowers and wild herbs, rockrose, mint, hints of spice, bottled in their time capsule and left to mull over for years. Written Notes

One can only close the eyes and imagine what sensations this wine raised in the mouths of three influential leaders when they were organising the new European and Asian borders after the Second World War in Yalta in April 1945. Winston Churchill, Josef Stalin and Franklin Roosevelt may not have analysed the wine specifically but it must have been extremely appealing, since 60 years later it is still very impressive.

Moderately pale bright brown colour. Very rich nose of sweet ripe plums, dark berries and buckthorn berries enhanced with chocolate tones. Intensely sweet, mellow tannins and moderate level of acidity with nuts and dark chocolate flavours. Warming long finish. A very balanced and charming wine.
