MUGA, Bodegas Muga (Rioja) Bodegas Mugan viinitarhat ovat sijoittuneet Montes Obarensesin vuoriston juurelle, Rioja Altan alueelle. Ilmasto on tyypillinen Riojan alueelle, jossa päivien polttavaa kuumuutta viilentää Biskajan lahdelta saapuva viileä tuuli, joka auttaa myös köynnösten tuulettumisessa huomattavasti. Tämä yhdistelmä Välimerellistä, Atlantin ja Mannermaista ilmastotyyppiä on ainutlaatuista koko maailmassa ja alueen yksi suurimpia muokkaajia.

Maaperä on enimmäkseen savea ja kalkkikiveä ja erityisen silmiinpistävänä seikkana ovat voimakkaat alueelliset erot. Bodegas Muga omistaa viinitarhoja noin 270 hehtaaria ja sen lisäksi valvoo sopimusviljelijöiden tarhoja yli 150 hehtaarin alalla. Rypälelajikekirjoon kuuluvat Tempranillo, Garnacha (Grenache), Mazuelo (Carignan) ja Graciano punaisista sekä Viura ja Malvasia valkoisista. Tammikuussa 2008, Wine Spectator -lehti valitsi Torre Muga 2004 -viinin yhdeksi maailman 10 parhaan punaviinin joukkoon.
