From McLaren Vale, maturation of this fine Shiraz was in French oak puncheons, one-quarter of them new, for sixteen months. The vineyard is in excess of thirty years of age. Dark maroon/purple, on the nose we have aromas of black cherries, plums, mocha, coffee beans, licorice, soy and florals, with very good oak integration throughout. The wine is balanced, well focused and has good intensity. There is energy and drive here and the wine finishes with silky tannins. Enjoy this over the next eight to twelve years.
