The Story

The vineyard is planted in 70% Merlot, 25% Cabernet Franc and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon. At around five hectares, Certan de May is a tiny jewel poised between Vieux Château Certan and Petrus. Written Notes

This wine was more aromatic on the nose, tighter and longer on the palate and with better structure than 2012 Certan de May.

  • 93p
Dark, ruby red colour. Lovely, spicy, smoky and ripe dark fruit nose. Touch of volatility. Ripe black cherries, tar and spices. Medium-bodied, intense, ripe chunky black fruit, spicy, floral, and liquereux-like palate. Very tight tannic aftertaste with some spices. This wine goes well with fillet of venison, damsons and cepe risotto.
  • 88p
Deep ruby in color with earth, truffle, cherry blossom and cocoa scents, supple texture with polished, fresh plum and cherry sensations in the finish. 92-93 Pts
