The Story

The name “La Conseillante” appeared in the middle of the 18th century, when the influential Catherine Conseillan, who owned the property, decided to endow the estate with her name.

In 1871, the Nicolas family acquired La Conseillante, whose surface area (12 hectares – 30 acres) and plots have not evolved since, enabling the estate to hold on to its exceptional qualities. In 1960, Louis Nicolas’ heirs formed the Société Civile des Héritiers ...

Vintage 2015

Full report of Bordeaux 2015 by Andrew Caillard MW “Next in line in a great series of vintages; 2000, 2005, 2009, 2010 and 2015.

2015 is a wonderful Bordeaux vintage without the hype or hysteria associated with 2009 and 2010. The wines are generally expressive and generous with wonderful concentration and structure. Given another year in barrel, the wines should gain more complexity and fruit volume. Châteaux, in all sub-regions, are e...

Tasted in November 2021. Seductive and sensual morello cherry nose, open arms right now, silky texture and lush berries. 14.5% alcohol, but you can't feel it, a lot of elegance and finesse plus great complexity and catchy style here.

Mid crimson with ruby rim. Seductive aroma of dark-red fruits, a hint of violets, and the scent carries through onto the palate, where the tannins are super-smooth but compact. A long, complete wine. (JH)

Ruby. Blueberries, anise, spices, cassis, detailed, tighter nose, intense. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, ripe, structured, intense, dark fruits, nuanced, refreshing notes, lovely balance, detailed, long. 96

A combinatin of dark and red fruit, elegant with not over powerful tannin. Fresh, fruity, long length. A wine can drink at young or can age. I can say its the one of the best vintage of La Conseillante that I have tasted. 94-95

Dark purple red with violet hue and black core. Complex nose with aroma reminiscent of plums, black cherries, blackberries and elegant floral hints of violets in the background. Fine spices and discreet roasting aroma developing with some oxygen. Opulent and rich on the palate, plums, dark berries and floral flavour, hints of chocolate and mild spices. Although the opulence there is a freshness, coming from the Cabernet-Franc, which makes this great wine very easily accessible and adds to depth and complexity. Am excellent wine with great length and promising potential.
