The Story

The name “La Conseillante” appeared in the middle of the 18th century, when the influential Catherine Conseillan, who owned the property, decided to endow the estate with her name.

In 1871, the Nicolas family acquired La Conseillante, whose surface area (12 hectares – 30 acres) and plots have not evolved since, enabling the estate to hold on to its exceptional qualities. In 1960, Louis Nicolas’ heirs formed the Société Civile des Héritiers ...

Written Notes

L’un des vins les plus raffinés du millésime sur cette rive. Nez ouvert sur la violette, la bouche déroule un tannin satiné qui prend de l’intensité au fil de l’ouverture.
Finale saline et florale qui monte, pomerol de très haut vol.

Blackberries, anise, dark fruits, liquorice, nuanced, fruit forward nose, detailed.Scented and lifted, floral.
Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, dark fruits, energetic, detailed, bright, layered, minerals, saline, nuanced, bright, effortless, elegant, so scented and seductive, long finish. Stunning purity and fruit.  97-99

Dark purple colour with violet hue and almost black core. Refined nose with elegant floral aroma, hints of wisteria, ripe blackberries, ripe elderberries, ripe plums and juicy black cherries, dark chocolate and hints of mild spices. On the palate well structured with ripe tannins, freshness, precision and depth, excellent length with great typicity for this wonderful terroir.

Wow. What beauty, elegance and length in this young wine, with medium body and vivid, bright acidity that gives energy and greater length. The tannins are extremely fine-grained, with an endless, silky texture. Another al-dente wine with brilliance. Goes on for minutes. 88% merlot and 12% cabernet franc. 97-98

La Conseillante: 88% Merlot + 12% C. Franc. 14% alcohol. It is very aromatic on the nose, with violets and iris, blueberries and blackberries, and delicate and distinguished on the palate with terrific elegance and finesse. It has a sophisticated touch and richness. Liquid cashmere. Long and lingering aftertaste. It's a fascinating effort and just a notch after 2022 quality-wise. 97-98p.
