54% of old Cabernet Franc vines and 29% of Cabernet Franc are complemented by Merlot. The vinification is made with 65% whole grape fermentation. The result is a rich and layered nose with hints of graphite, pencil shavings, fine floral hints of violets, backed by ripe blackberries and elderberries, excellent spiciness and subtle oak. On the palate well balanced with excellent structure, depth and length, rich fruit quoting the nose, elegant spiciness, fine minerality and graphite in the background. An excellent Carmes, maybe the best ever tasted en primeur?
