The Story

Château Pape Clément's red wines are vinified in oak casks. This favors uniform fermentation, unlike steel vats which are prone to temperature variations. Maintained between 29 and 30°C during fermentation, then between 27 and 29°C during maceration after fermentation, moderate temperatures allow for gentle extraction of tannins and color. Written Notes

The clarity to this wine is impressive. Wealth of dark-plum and black-fruit essence not to mention orange citrus. Everything is dialed up to the limit here but then dialed in on the palate. Such impressive depth and suave, ripe, fluid tannins that deliver impressive length. Great wine. Such polish. Superb. Try from 2022.

Pape Clement – potent, quite some oak, powerful, staffed with fruit, great structure and length. 94-95p.

Dark purple red with violet hue and black core. Expressive nose, elegant but persistent, with distinct roasting aroma, backed by succulent fruit, blackcurrants, sweet elderberries and hints of mulberries. Mild spices in the background, hints of vanilla, cloves and gingerbread spices. On the palate well structured with excellent length, full-bodied character with complex finish.

Deep colour. Intense dark cherry, praline aromas. Rich chocolaty wine with plenty of dark cherry, dark plum fruits, mocha oak complexity and plentiful fine looseknit tannins. Classic Michel Rolland wine. Modern and well balanced wine with fine grippy aniseed length. Very well suited to the Australian palate. 95 points

Pape Clement Pessac Leognan Very dark colour, very ripe nose, great aromatics more complex than most, very full palate, generous style. This has all the components with a bigger hit on the back of the palate, lots of earthy cedar you notes, tobacco too. Excellent stuff. Could turned into a classic vintage with some more barrel age. 93-96/100 2026- 2045
