2015 Pichon Baron showed more spicy fruit than 2016, but still had the same power and length. 97p.

Ruby. Cassis, blueberries, some vanilla, intense, dense and rich nose, almost massive nose, leaps out of the glass even if somewhat shut. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, fruity, red berries, darker fruits, spices, dense, structured, firm, very long finish. Drink from 2030 to 2065. 97

Medium to deep garnet-purple in color, the 2015 Pichon-Longueville Baron is enticingly scented of chocolate-covered cherries, crushed red currants and mulberries with touches of baking spices, potpourri and bay leaves plus a hint of fallen leaves. Sumptuously elegant, refreshing and medium-bodied with gorgeous, expressive, perfumed red fruits and very fine, very firm tannins, it has a persistent, perfumed finish. Its remarkable intensity, freshness and very firm frame suggest a long-lived Pichon Baron, which should cellar gracefully for 30+ years.

Dark purple red with violet hue and almost black core. Expressive nose with opulent character, rich fruit and elegant spiciness. Dark chocolate and roasting aroma in the background. On the palate opulent and rich with freshness, excellent length, firm but mature tannins and expressive fruit. Roasting aroma lingering in the background.

Deep colour. Elemental with cassis black olive cedar vanilla notes. Sweet cassis, black berry fruit, plentiful dry tannins, bitter cola notes. Finishes grippy but long and sweet. Well balanced wine. 94 points

Pichon Baron Pauillac Good deep colour, promising fruit on the nose, blackcurrant earthy notes, quite bright, this has pleasant texture, plump, fresh with an excellent finish, toasty. This is a step up in complexity and class. A fine wine for the vintage and chateau. 93-96/100 2030-2060
