Wine Information

2018 was characterised by moderate winter temperatures with no extremes. There was regular rainfall from early December to the end of March. The total rainfall was significant, exceeding 500 mm, that is to say approximately 180 mm above average. Spring was mild, followed by a very hot, dry summer. Pichon Baron - 78% Cabernet Sauvignon + 22% Merlot. Very intense nose of tobacco and grilled bacon, tight, dense, fat and creamy on the palate with strong backbone, fabulously complex, chewy, rich, and stunning length. Emphatic and stupendous wine! Tasted twice from the barrel, once from the bottle. 98-99p

Ruby. Dark fruits, anise, spices, blueberries, intense, lightly scented nose. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, detailed, intense, dense yet playful, ripe dark fruits, touch of red berries livens things up, very long finish. 97-99

Classic. Intense dark blackcurrant cassis blackberry liquorice aromas with mocha notes. Generous and classic in structure with plentiful vigorous fine grained tannins, superb density of fruit, integrated juicy acidty and lovely mineral length with bitter sweet notes.EVery elemental but should be very good.

Dark purple red colour with violet hue and black core. Lush fruit, ripe blackberries and blackcurrants, elegant roasting aroma, mild spices in the background. On the palate juicy fruit, opulent and ripe tannins, excellent structured, depth and length with savoury finish.
