Le Dragon has a beautiful vermilion colour. The nose is wonderfully fresh, with hints of cherry and raspberry. The ripeness of the fruit comes through wonderfully when the wine is swirled in the glass. It starts off quite smooth and soft on the palate, going on to reveal rich tannin that is well-integrated even at this early stage. The aftertaste is relatively long. It is also appetising and gives every indication of fine balance.

The Story

The inspiration for the name ˝Dragon de Quintus˝ came from the vineyard’s privileged location on a promontory at the edge of the Saint-Emilion plateau, as well as from the history of the watchtower built there to defend the village.
In Western mythology, the dragon is represented as a very intelligent creature, usually the guardian of a priceless treasure benefitting from exceptional sight.
This symbol of the keeper and protector of a magic ...

The year 2015 appears to be the warmest and sunniest, throughout our country, since the beginning of meteorological statistics. A long heat wave and dry period allowed to achieve excellent flowering conditions until the arrival, in August, of miraculous rains.
This rain enabled the vines to maintain the necessary water reserves and to provide requisite nourishment for perfect ripeness. The harvest began in September under a clear blue sky. Th...

Purple red colour with garnet red hue. Elegant yet powerful nose with balmy spices, hints of rosé pepper, discreet hints of cedar wood in the background. On the palate well structured with ripe tannins, rich fruit and elegant spiciness. A quite rich and opulent wine with good length.

Cabernet Franc 1% Cabernet Sauvignon Fine colour and nose, rich

spicy nose, very sweet fruit, calm, seductive, plenty of freshness, round

and early drinking, toasty finish. Very good wine. 90-92/100, 2019-

Intense red fruit, hint of game, wool , mushoom and wet forest, a bit earthy. Ripened fruit driven and a bit toasty from end of palate. Soft and round. Nice acidity and quite ready to drink. I did not feel the high alcohol (15.2%) from the palate. This is another perfect second wine of this vintage and very good value for money. 92+

Medium deep colour. Fresh black cherry, cassis pastille aromas with herb garden notes. Soft and fleshy with dark cherry, cassis plummy flavours, some alcoholic kick, fine chalky textures and long fresh acidity, juicy and elemental. Attractive wine with good substance and richness. Touch alcoholic (15.2%). 91 points
