The Story

The south facing 12 acre vineyard – located in the sleepy picturesque and biscuit-coloured Murrumbateman landscape – is planted on sandy clay loams over friable clays. Written Notes

The harvest was from 13th to 17th March, the earliest on record, at that stage. 5% Viognier co-fermented, 1/3rd whole bunches. 12 months in oak, with 30% of that new Sirugue and Francois Freres. 14%.

My glass presumably came from the end of the bottle as plenty of sediment swirling about, though it seemingly imparted no ill effects at all. Otherwise, crimson notes. Dark fruits and florals. A hint of chocolate. There was also a meaty/gamey note. Supple texture but it fell away on the finish. Just disappeared but left the slight impression of alcohol – in a manner not seen with any of the other wines.
