The Story

A blend of 80% Cabernet Sauvignon and 20% Cabernet Franc. The grapes are grown in vineyards planted on white soil which is rich in limestone, firm clay and stones.

The two varieties are fermented and macerated separately for around 15 days. After 12 months of ageing in oak and further 6 months in concrete vessels, they are blended and aged for several months in the bottle before being released.

Written Notes

Deep ruby with a youthful violet hue. The nose is expressive and finely detailed, opening with aromas of blackcurrant, blackberry, and dark plum, followed by layers of violet, Mediterranean herbs, and a distinctive mineral-grafite nuance. Subtle notes of cedar, tobacco leaf, and dark chocolate emerge with aeration, alongside a polished touch of oak spice.

On the palate, the wine is full-bodied yet remarkably poised. The tannins are firm but finely textured, slightly more assertive than in warmer vintages, giving the wine a precise, linear structure. Acidity is bright and well-defined, contributing to a sense of freshness and lift. The fruit profile leans toward the darker spectrum, complemented by savory elements, black pepper, and a saline-mineral edge.

The finish is long and focused, marked by persistent dark fruit, spice, and a refined earthy undertone.

Overall, a more structured and classically styled Camarcanda, emphasizing precision, freshness, and terroir expression. Excellent aging potential (12–20 years), and will benefit from cellaring to allow further integration and aromatic complexity.
