THE 2008 VINTAGE

This was the coldest year of the decade, marked by late flowering, followed by remarkable fruit ripening. Grapes in pristine condition offered delicate, nuanced aromas, the sign of great potential in years to come. This linear, well-balanced vintage has forged wines for ageing, built for the future; whose aromas will reach a dramatic crescendo as they come to the fore.

A vintage calling for patience, slowly developing ov...

Vintage 2008

2008 -The Champagne vintage set to make history!

Written Notes

An excellent, straightforward vintage with golden yellow colour, displaying an elegant nose with ripe fruit, white blossoms and hints of aromatic herbs, fine minerality, hints of brioche and sweet almonds. On the palate very energetic with exciting tension, creamy texture, excellent mousseux, juicy fruit and fine minerality.

Bright, light yellow colour. Open, creamy nose with dominant lactic 'Brie' aroma. Dry and crisp palate shows green apples, apricots, and hints of nuttiness. The finish is bit edgy and despite showing some density, it does not show complexity. The perfect dish such as sauteed turbot with truffles and beurre blanc would make this champagne sparkle. Drink now. JL 88p (Oct 2021)
