Pol Roger’s vinification is quite normal, which leads me to the conclusion that the secret lies in the quality of the grapes and, above all, in the skill in assembling the cuvées. Perhaps the most enjoyable of all champagnes on ”century-tasting« of Pol Roger in October -98. The bottle we tasted was absolutely newly disgorged and very elegant and youthful. The entire wine exuded charm and vigor. The fruit and the lightly toasted aromas similar to those found in the ’47 and ’75, but the aftertaste of caramel is even longer.
