The Story

Red Shoulder Ranch Chardonnay is a wine that bears the elegant imprint of its vineyard home – 68 acres that roll across the pastoral hill country of Los Carneros, a place where Napa Valley meets the northernmost rim of San Francisco Bay.

Cooled by the marine breezes off the Bay, the region has a long, steady growing season well-suited to growing superior quality Chardonnay.

Written Notes

Good looking normal size bottle and in an perfect condition. Colour is yellow, and looking clear and medium. On the nose it is wide and ripe. The taste is jammy, fruity, perfumed, toasty, and dry, high alcohol content, and average in acidity, full-bodied and with balanced structure. On the palate it is layered and has floral, citrus, new-oak, tropical fruits and white fruits flavours. The finish is medium long and flavorful. This wine is fine. I paid around 30-50€ a bottle. Perfectly stored bottles are still very worthy and will last well for another 5-10€ years and decant at least 15min before tasting. Too expensive for quality. I do not recommend it.
